July 2016: Wrap-Up

Yardage Totals 2016:
 January: 728yds
February: 1,062yds
March: 1,042yds
April: 706yds
May: 1,922yds
June: 411yds
July: 869yds
August:
September:
October:
November:
December:
2015 Totals: 6,740yds or 3.83 miles

It seems like I *just* wrote one of these posts–with late reporting on June’s yardage worked, it was just over two weeks ago that I composed one of these. Thankfully, I have better things to write about July, as I spent considerably more time knitting. We were in Wisconsin for much of the month, so Lamby was forced to take a back seat while crafting took the forefront. This is a good thing all-around as far as I’m concerned; I was able to get quite a bit of knitting done, even for a smaller amount of yardage to show for it. I’ve mostly let go of my disappointment in fingering weight’s yield in these tallies. I either need to knit much more, or I need to choose heavier weight yarns to work with. Neither will happen any time soon.

My goal is to average 734 yards of yarn knit every month in 2016 to reach an end-goal of 5 miles or 8,800 yards. As you all can see, we’re just over halfway through the year and I’m already at 77% of this goal! I’m a month away from reaching the productivity level I had in 2015, which had been my lowest year to date. So things are boding well, and I will blow 8,800 yards out of the water at this rate.

I’m unsure of what August has in store for crafting. Lamby needs to take top priority again, as well as organizing my home while the children are spending a couple more weeks with family out of state. I’m hoping to finish a current shawl WIP which is over 75% finished, as well as a soon-to-be-cast-on pair of handspun socks for myself–the final skein from the second Bin I’ve been knitting up. The weather is uncomfortably warm for all of the things I would like to get done, and I feel like I’m battling the urge to hibernate the last few weeks of hot and ick away.
