So.

Thanks to a certain Yarnathon and my desire to try and finish it this year…even more yarn came into the house this quarter. Not as much as during Q1, but still enough that I was not able to knit more than I bought. I am not going to beat myself up over this, even though I know I will amass more than I can knit out for the time being. I still have a little under a year in-country and plenty of opportunity to keep working through it—especially since my sweater knitting mojo has made a reappearance this year. As long as it gets used, I’m happy. I’m being a lot more intentional and thoughtful in my purchases than I have in the past, so I really have nothing to be upset about. Having new yarn to play with very shortly after it comes in has been a novel and refreshing experience. So. Still not heading in the correct direction to fulfill my plan to leave Korea with less yarn unknit than I arrived with, but I’m not going to let it get me down. It all fits in my cabinet with room to spare and is giving me so much happiness in this awful time. Now. Off to wind some yarn for the next project!

Whoo! That June number is almost exactly one mile’s worth of yarn knit. Not too bad for knitting two tops. I finished my Slovik Shirt and then cast on …a bit of Summer, a laceweight sweater knit at a loose, airy gauge. I’m feeling pretty pleased with that amount of knitting, and hopefully July will be equally satisfying with another laceweight top planned that will likely dominate most of my knitting time for the month.

My only knitting goal for 2020 is to knit something every month…Check! June definitely ticked off that box. June ended on a cool, rainy note, and I’m foolishly hoping that maybe July will be full of cool rainy days too. It’s been a very comfortable 72-74F in the house with a beautiful breeze. I’m sure summer’s punishing heat will be back all too soon, but I’m going to enjoy it for now.

What about you, kitten? Did you do much making this June? Have you maybe tried out a new craft or indulged in a new hobby? Are you spinning during the Tour this year? I hope you all are well and keeping yourselves safe by wearing your masks, taking extra care when washing your hands, and keeping them off your face.
