And there went February. Once again, a month that usually drags just whizzed on by. I blinked, and it was gone—each day so long but the month passed quickly.
I worked on only a single project this month—and honestly, I’ve been hella monogamous with knitting for a very long time now—finishing the first block of my spouse’s Ten Stitch Blanket and then moving onto the second block. Other than a single day, I worked on it at least a little daily, and it was nice to see the progress. One of the wonderful things about this pattern is that no matter how far along you get…there’s only 10 stitches on the needles at a time. So you can always notice the progress. Breaking it down into modular blocks like I have only increases that satisfaction, since none of the sides get so large that you can’t complete at least one in about an hour, maybe a little more, in a given day. So the motivation to see change helps keep it moving. Every day it grows.
And that’s exactly what I need in my life right now—progress I can see and measure in the span of 24 hours.
In 2024, my only yarny goal is to knit something every month—the same goal I’ve had for all of the 2020s to date. Yup. Goal achieved again this month.
So. What about you, kitten? Same questions as last month, if anyone cares to play along: do you have any crafty plans or goals for this coming year? Or have you given up on those and gone into feral crafter mode? Have you started any new projects for 2024? Maybe you’ve picked up a new hobby?
Take care of yourselves and each other,
XO,
Manda
